Life After Fantasy Football

What do you do after the fantasy season is done and you have to face the ‘real world’.

Gotta love fantasy football. For me, it lessens the blow of having a bottom 2 team and numbs me to the unwatchable (at times) product my team puts on the field. The weeks went by quick; football Sunday, football Monday, overreaction Tuesday, waiver Wednesday, football Thursday, injury report Friday, guess I’ll watch some college Saturday. For some, it was a very enjoyable season. For most, like myself, it was gut wrenching, stressful, and unsuccessful. The stories go on, the bad beats, the unlucky-ness, each story trying to one up the other, in a way of trying to validate your 7th place standing. Hey if it was easy, everyone would do it…

It’s easy to forget that there is an actual NFL season going on, even after ‘Suck on these TD’s’ season ended in the semi’s. We enter the final week with a lot at stake in the AFC as well as some odds and ends in the NFC.

What’s at stake in the season finale?

Rams need a win in order to lock up the division.

Arizona needs a win and a Rams loss to win division and a home playoff game.

Patriots could win the AFC East with a win and a Bills loss, but that may not benefit them for a long playoff run. Facing the Bills in the first round is no small task.

The 49ers will likely need to beat the Rams in order to make the playoffs.

Colts need a win and a Raiders loss to make the playoffs.

Chargers need a win or tie against the Raiders to make the playoffs, most likely as the 7 seed.

Raiders win and in against the Chargers.

Saints need a win and 49ers loss to make the playoffs. They can only get the 7 seed. I have saints under 9 wins soooo let’s see what happens.
